After watching several CCR videos created by other students, it became clear that creativity plays a huge role in audience engagement. As a viewer, I found that some videos were informative but ultimately boring, which made it harder to stay focused on what was being said. This made me realize that simply answering the question is not enough whatsoever, the way the information is presented matters just as much.
Because of this, when creating my own CCRs, I want to make them entertaining as well as informative. My aim is to keep the audience interested while still clearly addressing the questions and using appropriate media terminology. I want my videos to feel engaging rather than repetitive or overly formal, so that the audience remains invested throughout the entire video.
I also understand that achieving this level of creativity will take time. Developing ideas that are original, engaging, and fully thought is not something that I want to rush. However, due to the hard deadline of March 1st, things might have to speed up a bit. To be as effective as possible I will try to give myself a week per video since my goal is to complete four videos rather then simply two. That means planning, filming, and editing a whole two minute video in just 7 days….. sometimes it might even be less days depending on my other classes and other afterschool activities I have such as tennis and whatnot.
One of my good friends, Sophia who is also taking this class and we’ve both been trauma boned over all struggles regarding this class has been my YouTube channel’s number one fan. I needed to create YouTube videos since the video evidence I needed for certain blogs were too long so I had to upload them onto there and embed them into the blog. Through her checking my blogger page, she found my YouTube channel…. Since then she has watched, liked, and commented on every single video without fail. So much so that I’ve started to call her my “number one fan” as she started telling and showing everyone my channel. Because of her constant promoting my channel the joke developed into her becoming my “manager”. One day through text as we were talking I joked that I had to do a meet and greet for my “fans” since she got my channel up to 14 subscribers from starting at zero. So doing a meet and greet with my “fans” could be a creative and fun way to answer one of the questions. The idea is still in the works but I think it could be funny, creative and informative.
