Filming In School Scenes (Filming Day #2) (Blog #35) PRODUCTION

 (The whole process)

My in-school filming experience ended up being way more successful than I expected, especially after how stressful my first day of filming was. Going into this shoot with an actual plan helped a lot. Instead of feeling overwhelmed the entire time, the day felt more organized and manageable, which made it easier for me to focus on filming rather than stressing over everything going wrong.

One of the biggest reasons went so smoothly was having a proper space to film theses in school scenes without any interruptions. Being able to rearrange the classroom and adjust camera angles however I wanted really helped make the setting feel believable on camera. Having that time and space and people to work with made the whole process feel more professional and took away a lot of the pressure I usually feel when filming alone.

The only real struggle I ran into was trying to make myself cry in one of the scenes. Getting into the right emotional headspace on demand was harder than I thought, especially since everyone was laughing and we were having a good time filming so switching from laughing and joking around to being frustrated because of a grade was almost impossible, and it took a few tries to get it right. Thankfully with the help of water I was able to complete the shot. It was a little frustrating at the moment, but it thankfully all worked out in the end. Aside from that, everything else went really well.

What stood out the most to me was how different it felt filming with other people compared to filming by myself. The difference really was like night and day. Having people there to help, support me, and act as background characters made the experience feel less stressful and way more enjoyable. Everyone involved played a big role in making the shoot successful.
